Thomas Houtman is a Senior Consultant at Elevate, where he helps law departments and law firms improve legal service delivery through AI, legal technology, and process transformation. Working at the intersection of law, operations, and technology, he partners closely with legal teams to understand their needs and translate them into practical, scalable solutions.

Thomas supports customers across the full transformation lifecycle, from stakeholder interviews, workshops, and use case discovery to implementation roadmaps, configuration, development, testing, and deployment of AI-enabled workflows. His hands-on approach enables him to bridge legal practitioners, business stakeholders, and technical teams while keeping usability and adoption at the forefront.

His experience spans contracts review, due diligence, legal operations, knowledge management, document automation, and legal service delivery. He also delivers AI training, workshops, and executive briefings, and advises customers on AI strategy, technology selection, governance, implementation, and adoption, from initial exploration through enterprise-scale deployment.

Before joining Elevate, Thomas worked at Legadex as a Legal Project Manager and interim in-house Legal Counsel. His background in consulting and in-house experience gives him a practical understanding of the operational challenges facing legal teams and the realities of driving technology-enabled change.

Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree in Law and Economics from Leiden University and an LLM in Corporate Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
