John Thacher is Director at Elevate, where he helps law departments and law firms reduce risk and control costs by managing complex document reviews that deliver defensible outcomes on time and within budget. He oversees planning, execution, and quality control for large-scale reviews, collaborating with customers and internal teams to ensure efficient, cost-effective delivery. John also advises on strategic document review solutions, leveraging his expertise with diverse platforms and methodologies to guide effective use of technology-assisted review throughout the discovery process.

Prior to joining Elevate, John developed sales and document review systems for organisations including BDO, Ricoh, Peak, De Novo, and several AmLaw 25 firms. He led the 675-attorney review effort for the MDL Committee on the Opiates litigation, supported by 25 team leads and project managers. Over his career, he has managed document review projects in major U.S. cities and overseen daily operations involving up to 700 contract reviewers. His experience spans all phases of electronic discovery, from document collection through the finalisation of privilege logs.

John earned a JD from Albany Law School of Union University, an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a BA in political science from the State University of New York, Empire State College.
