Elevate Launches AI-Powered Contract Playbook Functionality, Expanding LLM Capabilities Across Elevate ELM Platform

New functionality accelerates contract review and negotiation with in-context playbook guidance, Microsoft Word integration, and AI-driven clause analysis.

NEW YORK (March 25, 2025) – Elevate today announced a significant enhancement to its Elevate ELM platform with the launch of a new AI-powered Contract Playbook and Negotiation tool integrating large language model (LLM) technology. This release marks a major milestone in Elevate’s mission to help law departments and law firms improve speed, consistency, and quality across legal operations.

Building on its long-standing commitment to AI, Elevate has integrated LLM capabilities across multiple areas of the Elevate ELM platform—including invoice review, contract metadata extraction, and document analysis—while also introducing a brand-new tool within its Elevate ELM platform for contract review and negotiation.

With Elevate’s new Contract Playbook and Negotiation solution, legal teams can now digitise their internal playbooks and accelerate contract reviews with AI-powered precision. The tool automatically analyses uploaded contracts, identifies provisions aligned to the digitised playbook, and offers contextual guidance—such as preferred language, fallback positions, and drafting notes—directly within the review workflow. A key feature is the Microsoft Word plugin, enabling lawyers to review contracts with playbook guidance and AI insights directly within their existing workflow.

This approach enables legal teams to review contracts more efficiently, apply internal standards consistently, and reduce the risk of overlooking key provisions. For the businesses they support, it means the ability to close better contracts, faster—helping accelerate deal cycles and shorten the path to realising commercial value.

In addition to playbook alignment, the tool provides rapid first-pass reviews of uploaded contracts—summarising key terms and identifying both included and missing clauses—to streamline triage and assessment. It also supports chat-based contract querying, enabling users to engage in conversational inquiries to quickly locate and understand specific terms or obligations within a contract.

“Our approach to implementing LLMs has been purposeful and pragmatic,” said Sharath Beedu, VP, Software. “Rather than simply layering in the latest technology, we’ve worked hand-in-hand with our expert legal services teams to identify where LLMs can create real value for legal departments—especially in areas like contract review, bill review, and workflow optimisation.”

The new functionality complements Elevate’s existing suite of AI tools within Elevate ELM, reflecting the company’s philosophy of offering the right tool for each job—whether that’s rules-based automation, traditional machine learning, or now, generative AI via LLMs.

This release also continues Elevate’s broader commitment to AI leadership, following the company’s 2024 acquisition of Redgrave Data. Together with its software innovations, Elevate is helping legal teams navigate and unlock the value of rapidly evolving AI technologies.

Elevate is showcasing the updated Elevate ELM platform and new Contract Playbook and Negotiation capabilities at booth #1324 at the Legalweek conference in New York this week. One-on-one demos are available throughout the event.
