She explains that many organisations treat migration as a document transfer project, only to encounter data inconsistencies, governance gaps, and reporting challenges that limit the value of a new CLM platform. Rather than simply moving contracts between repositories, migration often exposes broader issues within a contract portfolio, from missing agreements and outdated provisions to unmanaged renewal risks.

As law departments seek to turn contracts into a source of business intelligence, Rajni emphasises that migration should be approached as a strategic opportunity to strengthen governance, improve visibility, and establish a more reliable foundation for decision-making.
