July 15, 2025 -In the latest edition of Contracting Excellence Journal, published by the World Commerce & Contracting (WCC), Neetika Narula, Managing Director and India Geo Head at Elevate, explores whether AI-powered large language models (LLMs) signal the end of fixed metadata in Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems.

While fixed metadata has long been essential for ensuring structure, accuracy, and integration across platforms, LLMs offer dynamic, real-time data extraction and deeper insights. However, current LLMs, though promising, are not yet consistently outperforming humans in legal tasks, as shown in a recent Vals AI study.
