What do you like most about working as a flexible lawyer for Elevate?
Thanks to Elevate, I have been able to fill roles that make full use of my knowledge, skills, and experience at companies where I otherwise would not have had the opportunity to work. From tech to pharma, Elevate has placed me in leading companies as a part of superb legal teams.
What sorts of matters do you like the most?
Having mainly practiced commercial law, it’s no surprise that I enjoy those types of matters the most. Elevate has done a great job placing me accordingly in roles that leverage my strengths and interests.
What aspects of being a secondee do you find most interesting?
My experience with Elevate has enabled me to compare the processes of different legal teams and see which approaches work best – and then incorporate those learnings in my work across multiple industries and companies.
How has working with Elevate enabled you to thrive as a legal secondee?
Elevate’s team has done an amazing job placing me in positions where I’ve made valuable contributions and furthered my development as a lawyer. These positions have opened my eyes to the tremendous impact I can make as a secondee.
What advice do you have for those considering becoming an Elevate contract/flexible lawyer?
It’s natural to feel uncertainty about becoming a contract/flex lawyer – that was part of my experience. But my advice is to take the leap even if you are not 100% sure. Working with Elevate has led to fantastic opportunities for professional growth that I otherwise would not have had. I feel engaged, have advanced my career, and expanded my professional network far beyond what I initially anticipated. I’m glad I began working with Elevate, and I’d urge anyone thinking about it to talk to Elevate.
