Britain’s ‘Makers’ Worth £18bn to the UK Economy
June 17, 2015
Interesting to see the value ‘Makers’ bring to the economy. It would great to see the age and gender breakdown of the ‘Makers’ to properly determine what support they require. Access to funding is an issue, but the personal issues also matter – eg how can you obtain a mortgage as an entrepreneur or for many women the lack of any maternity support.
Innovators and entrepreneurs could be worth more than £18bn to the UK economy this year but further growth could be held back by financial barriers, skills shortages and a lack of understanding about emerging technologies.
