I was drawn to Elevate’s global footprint and international network, which aligned well with my professional strengths and career aspirations. Their ability to match lawyers with diverse opportunities across industries and projects was a key factor in my decision. It felt like a place where I could grow, contribute meaningfully, and gain exposure to a wide range of legal work.
What do you like most about working as a flexible lawyer for Elevate?
Elevate makes me feel valued, not just as a legal professional but as an individual. Their expansive network gives me access to new legal technology, innovation, and mentoring from subject matter experts. It is a truly supportive environment that encourages growth and excellence.
What legal work are you most passionate about?
I am particularly passionate about commercial contract reviews and supporting businesses in contract negotiations, especially in the technology space. I also enjoy M&A due diligence and working on regulatory and compliance matters.
What aspects of being a secondee do you find most interesting or rewarding?
With my broad legal background, I enjoy the variety each interim role brings. I aim to make a meaningful impact, regardless of the length of the secondment. There is a deep sense of fulfilment in seeing projects I have contributed to come to life and the impact they generate.
How has working with Elevate enabled you to thrive as a legal secondee?
Elevate has opened doors to work for large and high-value organisations. These placements play to my strengths while also challenging me to grow. The exposure has been invaluable for my professional development, and I’m keen to explore Elevate’s opportunities in other countries, too.
Do you have any advice for someone thinking about becoming an Elevate contract/flexible Lawyer?
Make every secondment count and approach each opportunity with an open mind. In an in-house environment, show genuine interest in understanding your internal clients: their goals, challenges, and priorities.
Practise being a good listener before being an adviser, and focus on delivering practical, business-oriented solutions through collaboration and empathy.
