March 25, 2026 — In a recent article by FD (Het Financieele Dagblad) exploring how organisations are accelerating AI adoption through incentives, training, and shifting expectations, Elevate expert Robbert van den Reek highlights a growing divide in how AI is adopted across professional services.

Against this backdrop, Robbert notes that perceptions of AI differ across seniority levels. Younger professionals generally pick up the use of AI more quickly. This is partly because they use AI much more in their personal lives, which gives them a better sense of which questions yield good answers and which ones work less well.

As AI becomes embedded in day-to-day work, this gap is becoming harder to ignore. Robbert points out that AI fluency is fast becoming a baseline expectation, with those lacking these skills increasingly at a disadvantage.
